Spend points in small steps
Read the next node, spend only when its effect is clear, then test in the default tower. Compare takeoff, landing, duration, cooldown, or placement behavior as applicable. Use the same obstacle family for before-and-after practice. This isolates the upgrade from random tower difficulty.
Avoid spending several saved points and changing camera sensitivity at the same time. If movement suddenly feels wrong, you need to identify the cause.
Account for round-limited gears

Example decision routine
Suppose long gaps cause repeated failures. First determine whether alignment or raw distance is the real issue. If normal movement reaches the platform when aligned, a coil is unnecessary. If distance remains the constraint and a current gear provides the needed movement, inspect its branch. Buy and test it in an ordinary round, note how timing changes, then decide whether the next node improves consistency.
This routine prevents a gear upgrade from masking a camera or route-reading problem.
